What is Fairtrade Action Network?
Fairtrade Action Network is an active online community for volunteers who are interested in promoting Fairtrade. We are hoping to create a community, operating mainly in the web, to share ideas and experiences on Fairtrade campaigning.
Who is Fairtrade Action Network for?
Fairtrade Action Network attempts to network Fairtrade enthusiasts who work for this cause in various ways: whether campaigning for Fairtrade City status, doing product tastings in supermarkets, challenging their friends to buy Fairtrade, giving out lectures about the issue in schools... every kind of involvement is welcome!
How does Fairtrade Action Network work?
The network communicates mainly through its website www.fairtradeaction.net
The network also has a discussion forum on the website and an e-mail list.
Fairtrade Action Network is initiated by Pro Fair Trade Finland, a volunteer organization working closely with the Finnish Fairtrade Labelling Initiative.
Fairtrade Action Network gives you a chance to:
- Learn and discuss the Fairtrade system and its current developments
- Exchange and get ideas and experiences on campaigns
- Connect with volunteers around the world
Who are we?
Pro Fair Trade Finland is a Finnish volunteer organization that promotes Fairtrade and brings the principles of fair trade into public attention. Our mission is to work for a just and ecologically sustainable world trade. Pro Fair Trade Finland was funded in 2000 and it works in close co-operation with the Finnish National Initiative of FLO, Association for Promoting Fairtrade in Finland. We organize education and training, product promotions ('tastings'), and various campaigns and events. We have volunteer groups in over 15 locations throughout Finland. Should you happen to be in Finland, you are also welcome to attend any of our activities. More information: www.repu.fi
